Happy Early Mother’s Day! If you ask any mom, I’m sure they’ll tell you that being a mom is by far the best gift they could ever receive. It’s the truth. Moms don’t NEED gifts on Mother’s Day. We already have the best gifts we could ever have…our children. The handmade cards, the finger prints and handprints, mixed with all the love is all we really need. And for me, at least, I’d be totally satisfied. But, that doesn’t get Ben off the hook. LOL He’s not BJ, Harper or Braxton. LOL
The truth is that gifts are tangible ways that we try to express what is in our hearts. We can’t even always convey it, so we try to buy something tangible to try to get the point across that I LOVE YOU! Well, Mother’s Day is probably the most epic gift-giving day past Christmas. Everyone wants to show mommy some love! And rightfully so in my book. Since I usually end up giving out a chunk of suggestions and gift ideas, I thought I’d use the blog to share it with everyone, so that we can all get inspired.
The thing about gift guides for me is that they are a starting point. They get the brain spinning. You don’t have to get the item in the picture on the gift guide, but if it makes you feel like it’s the kind of gift you want to give, go with it. Get that gift or go find one similar to it. I’ve got some Gucci shades on this list because I want some myself and I think they’d be a great gift. Well, guess what? Ben better NOT come home with Gucci shades. LOL Not yet, anyway. That’s not in our budget. But, nice shades are definitely in our budget and I would not turn down a nice pair. So, that’s how gift guides work for me. I hope this helps somebody do something really nice for their mom for Mother’s Day! If so, let me know in the comments. Happy Shopping!
- Matching Mommy Sweatshirts: So this is me and my daughter. I got us these matching sweatshirts from Pink Lilly. I love them! They have lots of other mom and me t-shirts if you’re in hot weather places like the ‘Sip.
- Statement Necklace from Plunder Design Jewelry: Two of my favorite people in the world sell Plunder Design Jewelry. When I saw this necklace, I had to have it. I think the name of this one is BETSY. I’ve gotten so many compliments on this necklace each time I’ve worn it.
- Eufy Robo Vac: A mom with kids needs some help cleaning up. We don’t have a regular housekeeper but this robo vac can definitely help a sista out. I’m hoping this one is on Ben’s list. Y’all call him and make sure for me! Right now there’s a $60 coupon you can check on Amazon and then you can enter EUFYCARE to get a little bit more off of one of these. You could end up saving $120 on one.
- Mom Juice Glass: I just love this! A million Etsy sellers are selling these and you probably know someone who does stuff like this. If not, search on Etsy for a seller who will make the sticker for you and you can apply it to any glass you want to apply it too. I’ve done it before and I can link the girl who made my stickers. I haven’t had any problems.
- Brazillian Bum Bum Cream: Sephora knew what they were doing offering these as gifts with your points. I got a couple free samples and I’m sold. It’s my favorite!
- Target House Slippers: These are the cutest! They don’t have a lot of cushion but I love these slippers from Target.
- Color Street: Ever busy mom needs dry nail polish. If she’s on the go, she’ll have a few moments when her nails aren’t up to par and she’ll have somewhere to go where it matters. These nail strips save lots of time, money and stress. I will never be without one in my makeup bag.
- Gucci Shades: Who doesn’t need a nice pair of shades? These are fabulous! For the luxury mom, these have to do the trick! She’ll love them. But if she doesn’t, I know someone you can send them to…
- Bond No. 9: True Story. I bought my first Bond No. 9 and ended up giving it to my mom. I just felt like she deserved gifts like that, not me. I plan to get another one, but I haven’t settled on the scent just yet. Any of them are a win.
- Electric Tea Kettle: My dad is an avid tea drinker. He had one of these first and I had to have one. It is so great for busy mornings. All you have to do is pour the water in and press the button. In a few quick minutes (feels like seconds), you have water for your tea or for whatever you’re making. I’m a tea drinker so I have to have one of these.
- Anthropologie Initial Mug: These are so pretty to me. If you have a tea or coffee-drinking mom, she’ll love this. Very affordable and very nice!
- Vanity Planet Steamer: When I posted a video with this steamer, I got lots of texts about this one. It’s not expensive and it’s one of those gifts that people never buy for themselves. If your mom is into skin care at all, she’ll appreciate this one.
- Brunch at Char: Char is one of our family’s favorite restaurants. Even if you aren’t ready to dine-in, you can do take out too. A mom who cooks all the time could probably appreciate some help in that area on Mother’s Day, even if she insists on cooking a little bit.
- Clinique Skin Care: This is another one of those “I need it, but didn’t buy it” gifts. I love gifting skin care. People usually want it but just haven’t taken the time to go and get it, and sometimes it can be pretty expensive. Getting skin care as a gift is a yes for me.
- Brumate: Tailgate season will be here before we know it and you will see me carrying one of these for sure. They keep your drinks cold and they’re super cute too. Lots of options to choose from.
- Capri Blue Candles: This is another Anthropologie find and a great Mother’s Day gift. Moms love candles, especially nice ones.
- Fresh flowers: Flowers are a given on Mother’s Day. To me, there is something special about delivered arranged florals. Yes, they will be much more expensive than the nice flowers you can get from Whole Foods and arrange yourself, but it’s Mother’s Day. If you want to do that, take the plunge. Either way, flowers are super sweet.
- Custom Bracelets from Chic’d Out: My hubby bought me a set with all the kids names on them and one with our wedding anniversary. I love those! You can get Roz to put any words you’d like on them.
- Artis Brushes: You may not want to buy the whole set at one time, but if your mom wears make up, she’ll love these brushes. I haven’t found anything else like them.
- Target Loungewear: Gotta have it! We want to be comfortable and cute. Loungewear or pajamas work for me any time of the year!
I hope this helps you all find great gifts for your moms or for the ladies in your life you want to love on for Mother’s Day! I know that this time of year can be really difficult for those whose moms are living in Heaven now, so just know that you’re in my prayers during this time. I pray that God gives you whatever you need today and always.
