Happy New Year!

We’re here, y’all! We made it! We survived all the ugly things 2020 launched at us and we’re here. As much as I want to plow into 2021 and get past so much of 2020, I honesty have to stop and be so thankful for 2020. 2020 is what has literally PUSHED me towards my purpose. Literally. It’s been a year of high-highs and low-lows, but we made it and I am thankful. So here goes! The 20 things I’ve learned in 2020:

  1. We don’t control anything. We can do our best but God is running this show. We do a lot better when we realize that and do our part. Pray, shush and work.
  2. There is so much beauty in stillness and tranquility.
  3. Hard times will show you who you really are and who the other people around you really are.
  4. All relationships are not designed to stay the same. They grow, change and evolve just like you do. And that’s okay.
  5. When like-minded people come together, you all can conquer the world together.
  6. Those wandering thoughts I have when I pray may not be a result of my inability to focus after all. God may be leading me to those thoughts during the times I’m closest to Him.
  7. Pray. All day. Every single day.
  8. Protect your peace at all costs. Some things and some people just are not worth your peace.
  9. Your family needs everything you have to offer the world. All of the wonderful things you are to the world are needed right there in your own home.
  10. We are the church and the church lives in us. We’re connected even when we’re apart.
  11. Making time to be intentional about the things that are important to you is critical. Gotta do it!
  12. We have our periods of struggle and then we have our periods of victory. They come and go. It’s a constant cycle. Accept where you are in that cycle and know that greater is always on the way.
  13. You can’t do it all but you can have it all. Hard work, planning, training and delegation lead to ultimate success.
  14. When you’re obedient, God will place the very people you need to help you make it through whatever season you’re in.
  15. Our children’s education is our God-given responsibility. We partner with schools to make it happen, but we have to lead the way as parents. Their potential is wrapped all the way up in the seeds we plant, water and nourish at home.
  16. Life is short. Be good to the people you love. Forgive and create memories.
  17. If you see something you want, you better buy it then. Coming back to it will “get you GOT” every time.
  18. Stay ready. Stay prepared. In the words of my grandfather, “Have some dry sticks for a wet day.”
  19. Make YOU a priority. Your health, your beauty, your fitness, your lifestyle, your home, and anything else that concerns YOU, make those things a priority. You owe it to yourself.
  20. You can do anything you want to do. We say it to our kids but how many of us believe that about ourselves? You’re smart enough, cool enough, talented enough and pretty enough to do WHATEVER you want to do. It may require some work, but you’ve got this!

Much love, peace, prosperity, joy, happiness, abundance, and many more blessings to you and your family in 2021! Let’s get iiiiiiiiittttttt!

So incredibly thankful for all of God’s blessing So incredibly thankful for all of God’s blessings especially my family and y’all are a part of it. Since I started this blogger journey a few years ago, I’ve met so many amazing people and I’ve reconnected with friends I hadn’t seen or talked to in years. Thank y’all for connecting with me on the good days, the bad days and all the days in between. Just yesterday, I was so encouraged by a friend in this community. You never know who’s watching and you never know how you affect others.

Happy Thanksgiving, friends! I hope you had whatever kind of day you wanted to have today and that you found a few reasons to be truly thankful.
Somebody said it’s #nationalfamilypjday Truth: I Somebody said it’s #nationalfamilypjday Truth: I usually buy family PJs a size bigger so that we can make it for 2 years with the same pjs, but who am I kidding? I’m a little obsessed and we just might end up with new ones. When I start focusing on our family’s financial goals, I’m like…run it back one more year! 🤣🤣🤣

Do y’all get new family pjs every year? Tag your favorite store to get them from.

And just know that the first 3 pics are because I’ve never posted them in all these years and they are sooooo cute. We showed up for the shoot with no pjs and had to wear the ones the photographer had, but I love these pics just the same. Kids grow up so fast. 💕😢🥰
Because when I make it successfully through Octobe Because when I make it successfully through October and plow on through to Thanksgiving, you can lock me up in somebody’s spa. That’s it. That’s the post.
Today was just good for my soul. I haven’t laugh Today was just good for my soul. I haven’t laughed this hard in quite a while. There is nothing like the HBCU experience, no place like The ‘Loo.

My feet hurt. It was beyond hot. And I’ve got to take my allergy meds, but I had a couple of uninterrupted, kid-free hours with some people I hold dear to my heart today. So no complaints here. Hail to thee…
